Whenever I’m out on the road at an art festival I often have other artists approach me about how I make my prints, what tent I use, how I recharge my phone when I don’t have electricity and more. This page is a catch all for those of you who want to know what kind of equipment I use for everything I do:-) So you can make your own giclees (pronounced G CLAYS) and get set up for art festivals.
My printing equipment:
Epson P400 Surecolor Printer prints 13″ wide by 20′ long. Perfect for printing up to an 11″ x 14″ print on a 5/8″ stretcher bar.
For a larger printing capability use this one:
My printing supplies:
Epson Matte Canvas Roll: (note: don’t use the gloss canvas it is too thick to stretch over the stretcher bars)
Epson ink for the P4oo (around $18 each): Cyan ; Magenta; Photo Black; Matte Black; Orange; Yellow; Red; Gloss Optimizer
Clear bags: www.clearbags.com
Stretcher bars: 11″ x 14″ ; 8″ x 10″ ; 5″ x 7″ (make sure to get the 5/8 inch profile for the 11 x 14 otherwise you won’t be able to staple the canvas to the bars) I buy these canvases then cut the cheap canvas off to expose the wooden stretcher bars. I then wrap and stretch the canvas on the bars over top of any existing staples.
Retail bags: for 11″ x 14″ purchases; for 8″ x 10″ purchases; for 5″ x 7″ purchases;
My Tent: Under $300 and free shipping for Prime Members!
My battery charger for my phone $34.99 : My imuto gives me 100 hours of power for my iPhone so I don’t have to pay for electricity. You need to have your phone charged to accept credit cards. I use the Square Reader.
