The Spirit of Equus was originally a
36" x 48" painting on canvas from the
The Tao of Equus Series which was
inspired by cubism and my background
as a graphic designer.

In this adaptation of the painting, I have
expanded the light rays in the background
and broken out key colors into triangles
floating in the background to add to the
feeling of the horse breaking out of the
armoire.

When people discuss horses they will
often mention the spirit or temperment
of a horse. This jewelry armoire is a
tribute to the spirit of the horse...that
essence that makes each horse unique.
